Annuals with Attractive Foliage

Ornamental Sweet Potato (Ipomoea batata) could be an attractive addition to your arrangements with its bright green or deep purple foliage. As a vine, it will hang down from baskets or climb up from planters.

Ornamental millet ‘Purple majesty' ( Pennisetum glaucum ‘Purple majesty') is an ornamental grass that will enhance any planting with its vibrant dark purple colour and adds height. It grows the best in full sun and well-drained soil.

The medicinal plant 'Salvia officinalis' is a tasty addition to herbal teas & could add texture and colour with its grey and purple foliage.

Coleus blumei is one of the more commonly used foliage annuals. Coleus has a variety of variegated leaves ranging in colors from reds and yellows to purples, whites and greens. Due to the incredible variety of foliage colours, it is great addition to almost any planter.

Do not hesitate to use annuals as an addition to perennial flowerbeds and shrub borders to give them a slightly different look each year. Have fun with your annual arrangements and experiment , keeping in mind basic rules considering shade, sun exposure and not forgetting about frequent watering and fertilizing.
